Overwatch. It is the pinnacle of competitive games in this, the current generation of toxic gamers. This game is soo toxic, Blizzard has a report system they don’t look at ( most likely). Let me explain. I am an overwatch player. Truthfully I am. I play pretty well… Not top 500 mind you, not even GM. Hell, I’m not even platinum. I fall somewhere in the middle of Silver and Gold. Surprising, I know. I’m digressing a bit.
We had a comp that wasn’t bad. A bastion, a lucio ( I have taken to playing alot of lucio lately), a moira, the hampster, mcree, and a zarya. Ok… Maybe it wasn’t the best of choices, but it could have been worse. The enemy was playing two shield tanks and we could have had a widow.
Losing the first point on the map we were on, isn’t bad but it was at this time I mentioned that we could use a Shield tank for the bastion ( as I knew there was no way in hell they were going to switch off ). We don’t get the shield tank, bastion dies over and over regardless of my attempts at healing him. Remember, we had a moira which means, we had three dps on the team and everyone screaming for heals. I did say I was a lucio right? Trickle healing and boops to go with it. Anyways. We were rolled.
We weren’t just rolled. We were tied up and pushed to the edge of a cliff and shoved off into the watery rocks below.
Now then, me in my sarcastic toxic way made the statement ” Good thing we got that shield tank for bastion, really made an impact”. Funny, yes I know. Funnier still was the reply that came from ( interesting enough ) #FilthyJester. ” You’re silver, you should stfu” . Yup. I’m silver. This season I am silver, out of 19 seasons, I have placed gold mostly, but this season silver ( as a tank mind you. I’m not waiting 20 minutes to get into a rank game to do dps) and I leave my profile open for a reason. On any damn day, most people know, I can match my skills with any GM, or up player in what I have learned on some characters.
But does this make my suggestion less sound? Did Napoleon teach each soldier how to wield a sword, how to shoot his rifle or tamp a cannon?
No, he did not. He was though, one of the greatest strategists and leaders in this age. He was probably a silver or gold.
This game, it is a competitive game. It is a team game. I made a statement to people that we were all bronze players because we couldn’t get our act together as a team. As singles we could all do well. Actually ” well” was an understatement. As singles we could do great, just couldn’t get ourselves together to play as a viable team.
Back to the beginning of this, I said BLizzard doesn’t look at their report system. I truly believe that they get reports from a certain amount of people in a game, and as long as they receive them they warn or punish accordingly. You’re not allowed to defend yourself of course. ” Yo mamma” jokes are out of the question. Telling a toxic person who should know better, to delete their system 32? No way. Not allowed. Get reported for that and you can enjoy a suspension of your account, whether you were the instigator or defendant. Currently, I love the people who say ” Blizzard won’t do anything to me” . It’s because I know better. I have received 2, 7 day chat bans and a 9 day game suspension for being toxic.
Not that this means anything to anyone. Most people have 2 or three secondary accounts they can play on. Suspension and bans mean nothing to anyone as Blizzard doesn’t ban or suspend by mac address. They don’t do anything to your IP. It is just an account suspension/ban. Got another email? Got about 5 minutes? got 10.oo to purchase another game? You’re all set. New email, new account, new game, 2 hours, and you are at level 25 competing with newbs you can pwn. Or maybe not. They may be on their second, third or 40th accounts.
Overwatch is a person who is allergic to tree nuts and wants nothing more than to have fresh hazelnut coffee. Toxic as hell with no cure in sight.
Incidentally, I can’t count how many times I have been called a boomer. Funny thing is, I don’t find that offensive. I’m not. But still… It is my generation that paved the way for the kids using the term on us to be able to sit there in their parents homes cause they can’t afford to go out without their mom’s or dad’s cash card and car. I guess a term for them would be leech.
